Are you having problem attaching them to the cake? Is this when you get the " fingernail prints and crinkles" on them? Or you have problem in general, when you are making them?
If it is the first one, this is not supposed to happen, because the flowers are supposed to be dry when you are attaching them. If I am working with fondant however, I always cut my fingernails beforehand, because sometimes even the smoothing of the cake surface is not easy if you have manicure. If you do that, then you shouldn't have a problem.
If you are leaving fingerprints on the flowers when you are making them, you can try working with gloves or you can work in colder ( air conditioned) room, so the fondant wouldn't "melt" in your hands.
Good luck with the cake, keep me posted!

Oh my goodness, I made my first batch of marshmell...

Oh my goodness, I made my first batch of marshmellow fondant and WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! First, I try not to do everything on the same day.I've done it, it's a suicide. Whatever decoration I can make in advance, I make it. I bake the layers at least 2 days in advance as well, then I freeze them. I do this when the kids go to bed ( around 8.30-9pm) and whatever I can finish before 11.30-12 am, that is it for the night. If I can, I avoid putting together the cake less than 24 hours before the event, because things happen, and they do tend to happen exactly when you have a little time before the presentation.
But sometimes, yes...it is frustrating and impossible, and you have to learn to curse in foreign languages, so the kids won't know what you are saying :-) But there is a light in the tunnel! The Buzz Lightyear cake that I made, these kids were out of this world! They were so good! I baked and decorated with them awake and present! Only on the final part my husband took them out for a walk because they were bored, but other than that they were amazing. So it gets better :-) but slowly and painfully :-). Hang in there and join the club! We've got jackets :-)

how do you do it? make these beautiful cakes with...

how do you do it? make these beautiful cakes with two little ones running around. please don't say you stay up all night long to do them either.
